Lots of people have your same question.

However YouGov might be useless to use from some contries that I'm going to mention in this review.

If you want to learn how this site works, how they pay, how long are the surveys and more just keep reading...

Is YouGov a Scam: Quick Summary

What is YouGov?

YouGov is an opportunity for you to earn some extra cash by giving your opinion and taking surveys. This company has been around since 2000; so, it's needless to say that they are pretty reputable and legitimate.

YouGov is market research firm that is headquartered in the UK. However, it's also available in different countries that I'm going to mention below in this review.

To summarize, you can earn extra cash with this company by answering opinion polls and various tasks. Plus, there are many ways to get paid from this company.

It's a legit survey site. However, it does not mean it's for everyone.

Furthermore, YouGov in some countries is terrible because there aren't many available offers. However, it's not their fault though because if you can't find enough offers in your country it's because there aren't many advertisers!

That's why the US is the best country when it comes to taking surveys. Plus, it's a big country with a big population and lots of investors and advertisers!

Is YouGov a Scam: How does it work?

It's pretty easy to sign up to YouGov.

If you are from the US you can sign up using this link YouGov.com (My Referral Link). However, if you live in the UK they have a different domain name which is YouGov.co.uk.

On the other hand, if you live in a different country just click on one of the links above, scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see the available countries and their links.

is you gov a scam points

2,100 points on YouGov

As soon as you join, you will earn 2,000 which is a sign up bonus.

How Many Points You Get for a YouGov Survey?

To summarize, the surveys are pretty fun and easy in my opinion.

They are usually 5 to 8 minutes long; however, sometimes you will find some surveys that are 20 minutes long.

But, 20 minutes surveys are the longest you can find in this site.

how many points you get for a survey at YouGov

Your very first survey will make you 2,000 points. After that, you will get 500 points to 1,400 points per survey. The points you get are based on the length of the survey.

To summarize, the longer the survey is the more points it will bank you. Furthermore, keep in mind that 1,400 is $1.

Is YouGov a Scam: More Ways to Earn at YouGov

Surveys are not the only way to earn with YouGov.

There are different ways  you can use to earn more points which include:

  • Testing products
  • Teen Surveys
  • Reading articles
  • Answering poll and political surveys
  • Celebrity surveys
  • Earn more from the YouGov App
  • Refer friends (best way to earn) you can earn up to 3,000 per referral.

I think the most reliable way to earn from YouGov is to refer your friends or anyone you know.

So, you can earn a lot of money if you know how to refer people to join using your referral link.

However, I personally earn an extra $500 per month from different surveys like Harris Poll, Inboxdollars and Cashcrate because I refer people to them.

You can build a Full-Time business doing just that if you follow the Same Training that I use to Make Money.

How do I Get More Surveys on YouGov?

To get more surveys, all you need to do is complete the questionnaire where you have to add details about yourself.

Once you complete the questionnaire, YouGov will start sending you surveys that match you and of your interest. For example, they will ask you in a survey if you use Netflix or Amazon video.

If you say for example you use Netflix only, then you will start getting surveys about the latter only. After that, you will be asked questions about Netflix like where did you hear about it and questions like that.

However, if you say you use both Amazon video and Netflix then you will probably receive surveys on both.

The point is, the more stuff you own or say you own the more surveys you will get.

Remember to be always honest with your answers.

If they catch you lying YouGov will stop sending you surveys or probably even ban you!

For example, if you say in a survey you were born in 1964 but in another survey you say you were born in 1998, then YouGov will catch this and they will ban you.

To receive more surveys just be honest with your answers.

US, UK, Canada & Australia Resident will Receive more Surveys!

So, YouGov members from countries like India or Singapore for example will receive way less surveys than members from the US for example.

If you're live in a country like Singapore unfortunately there is nothing you can do to get more surveys.

Is YouGov a Scam: Payment Method

Yes, if you complete surveys or polls you will earn points. To summarize, these points can be redeemed into real cash. Plus, there are different ways to get paid.

In order to redeem your points, you have to accumulate 25,000 points.

25,000 points = $15

However, if you live in the UK you will have to wait until you have £50 which is a lot.

Here are the available payment methods at YouGov.

  • PayPal
  • Gift cards (iTunes, Amazon, Target, Walmart & Best Buy even restaurant gift cards.
  • Charity Donations
  • Sweepstakes

However, it usually takes 5 to 10 business days to receive your payment if you choose PayPal as a payment option.

Furthermore, gift cards are not digitally sent. So, they will take up to 3 weeks to arrive to your door step after you request them.

In What Countries YouGov is available?

YouGov is available in different countries. However, the earning potential depends from country to country.

Anyway, here is a list of some countries where you can sign up to YouGov.

  • US
  • UK
  • Australia
  • China
  • Germany
  • France
  • Italy
  • Pakistan
  • Norway
  • Middle East
  • Indonesia
  • Taiwan
  • Spain
  • Sweden

Is YouGov a Scam: Mobile Compatibility

As I said before, you can also take surveys, test products, read articles and answer polls directly from your smartphone.

The YouGov app is available for both Android and IOS devices.

YouGov Reviews & Complaints

There are many reviews online about YouGov. Furthermore, there are both positive & negative reviews.

However, I noticed that United States members are the ones that seem to enjoy this site the most.

yougov positive reviews online

Source: https://www.surveypolice.com/yougov

Most negative reviews are about:

I Don't Receive Enough Surveys!

Most members complain about the fact they don't receive enough surveys.

However I noticed that most of these complaints come from countries outside the US & UK.

I think YouGov cannot do anything about this issue, because it's not their problem if some countries have limited surveys.

However, I have read complaints from some UK members where they say when they reach £50 threshold the site starts limiting the surveys they receive.

YouGov Pays Peanuts!

Plus, many people complain about the low pay.

However, most online surveys and reward sites are like this as most of them don't pay well.

So, in my opinion the only survey that I think pays well is SwagBucks I have been using it for years and they pay well and in time.

When I say they pay well I don't mean thousands of dollars but just an extra $150 every month which I think is worth my time because I only spend like 10 to 15 minutes per day on SwagBucks.

However, I must mention that I know how to find referrals which is why I make that much without putting in much work.

The same principle can be applied to YouGov, if you focus on their referral program will you will double if not triple your earnings.

I Get Disqualified all the Time!

Furthermore, lots of members report that they get disqualified after 5 to 8 minutes when completing a survey. This is one of the things I really hate about surveys.

It's no fun to keep answering boring questions just to be screened out!

To avoid disqualifications just be honest with your answers and make sure you fill out your profile with valid information.

There are more reviews for you to read on Trustpilot.

    Do I Recommend It?

  • Thanks for this great review about yougov. It’s good to know that there are other legitimate survey sites out there besides main ones like swagbucks.

However like you said, if you don’t know how to get referrals, I don’t think spending your time on survey sites are all that great.

Atleast I’m the us, you could get paid more just flipping burgers than you could on these sites. However if you can get referrals — then you can defiantly make some good money.

    • Hi Micheal, I personally don’t spend much time taking surveys, they are so boring, I only refer people to them and get paid, and I also recommend people to do the same and not mislead them into believing they can make good money with surveys when they can’t.

There are lots of better opportunity online that make more money.

  • Thanks for your review about YOUGOV. Earlier, I have also tried many survey sites for earning online. But what I felt is it is really hard to make handsome income through online surveys. It is a time consuming thing. If you really want to make money then Affiliate Marketing is the best way.
Anyway, I’ll try Yougov to see in what way they are paying. There are many survey sites which are legit but there payment system is really low.

    • Hi Himbru, surveys are slow when it comes to earnings, that’s how they are and nothing can be done about it.

But there are many different ways to earn online that are worth it.
