We all have our dream bodies, right?

Every day, we aspire to be healthier and achieve the best version of ourselves and bodies.

It Works! is one of those companies that claim that they can help you attain those.

Does It Works! really work? Is It Works! a pyramid scheme? Is It Works! a scam?

Don't worry because in this review, we will answer all of those questions!

But first, let me inform you that I am neither a promoter or a basher/hater of the said company.

With that being said, let's get started!

Is It Works! A Pyramid Scheme: Quick Summary

What is "It Works!"?

It Works! is a skincare, health and nutrition company that operates in a multi-level marketing scheme.

A former Michigan high school math teacher and basketball coach, Mark Pentecost started the company in the year 2001, together with his wife, Cindy Pentecost.

The company mainly uses social media to promote its products. 

So, that is why most of the time you see posts in Facebook about a body wrap that claims to improve your body.

Oh and don't worry, we will talk about that product in a while.

It Works! headquarters is located in Florida. However, it operates in other countries.

These include Canada, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, New Zealand, Ireland and in the United Kingdom.

Is It Works! A Pyramid Scheme: Products

If we will talk about It Works! products, then there is no better way than to start with the product that skyrocketed its name.

The company's flagship product is a body wrap that claims to improve the skin texture, as well as reducing cellulite, tighten and tone the skin.

Furthermore, they claim that those things happen in just 45 MINUTES.

Because of its function, the product is widely known as "That Crazy Wrap Thing".

In addition, it is also called the Ultimate Body Applicator. 

However, the product is not just limited to the belly part. It can also be used on your legs, arms and back, just like in the picture shown above.

Its retail price is $99, which I think is a bit too expensive for a body wrap.

Now that you have watched the video, let me ask you, do you think that the body wrap will actually work?

However, don't tell me yes just because the company's name is It Works.

On the contrary, the product DOES NOT WORK.

I find it absurd how just by wrapping up a part of your body can make it even more toned and improve it.

Furthermore, there are no PROOF of it being effective.

We will discuss more about this later.

It Works! is a health and wellness MLM company, just like Herbalife and Advocare.

So, It Works! product line is not just limited to body wraps.

How To Join?

In this section, let's discuss more about the business part of It Works!

Before going to the part where we talk about how we can earn money, let's learn first about how to get started and join It Works!.

So, the first thing you need to do is to pay for a Business Builder Kit that cost $99.

By the time you purchase this kit, you will already be considered as a "wrapreneur"!

That is the company's term for its distributors.

However, the cost incurred will not stop there.

It Works! will provide you with your own website where you can sell your products. However, you need to pay a monthly fee of $20.

Plus, another fee is the annual renewal fee that costs $35.

Also, there is another requirement for you to earn commissions.

Overall, you would have to pay more or less $1,500 yearly to be able to run this business. Furthermore, this cost is greater than what most distributor make.

That's all there is to know about joining It Works!.

Now, let's move on to the more exciting part which is how to earn money with it.

How Can You Earn Money?

As an MLM company, similar to Beachbody, Cutco and Optavia, there are two ways for you to earn money.

1. You earn commission on each sale you make. So you must sell It Works! products.

2. You earn commission every time you recruit someone to join It Works!.

That sounds easy, right?

However, it is a lot easier said than done.

Selling their products can be quite hard because of the saturated beauty product market. Furthermore, a lot of people have products that they already trust. So, trying to convert them to using yours is just another challenge that you would have to overcome.

However, another way to earn is by recruiting others. Usually, people who work under MLMs make most of their money by recruiting other people. And It Works also operate in the same way. Most of your earnings would be from people you have recruited for your downline. So, the more people you can recruit, the more you can earn.

 However, recruiting others is going to be a real challenge since a lot of people are wary about MLMs and will usually look at you different for trying to recruit them. So, this means that your family or friends might annoyed with you constantly trying to recruit them.

Can you earn with It Works?

In order for us to know how profitable It Works, we would need to look at their income disclosure statement. 

This is their income disclosure statement from 2021. As what can be seen, the majority of their active distributors (79.83%) only earn a monthly earning of $57. Furthermore, you have to keep in mind that you are going to be paying an upwards monthly fee of $100. So, doing the math the average distributor would be losing $43 per month. Unless, you are one of the lucky few who manage to recruit a lot of people and sell a lot of products, which we all know is really hard to do.

Compensation plans are sometimes can be a bit complicated and difficult to understand. However, let me go through the basics.

So, the It Works! Compensation Plan is composed of three ways of getting paid.

You will bump into these when you work in It Works!

Retail Commission

Everytime you sell an It Works! product, you should be wearing a wide smile on your face because you will get rewarded.

Retail commission is what you call for the money you earn on each sale you make.

The amount of retail commission you earn varies on each product.

To determine it, all you have to do is to find the difference between the wholesale price and the retail price.

Loyal Customer Commission

This is the commission you earn everytime you sign up loyal customers.

Furthermore, these are people who basically want to purchase products at wholesale!

By the time they sign up, they will be on a 3-month subscription. They will have discounts on the products they will buy.

Furthermore, you can earn a residual income.

Team Commission

The name says it all. This is the commission you earn from your team. To summarize, this one is the MLM part of the business.

Basically, everytime you recruit people, they are immediately your downline.

So, the more people you recruit, the more team commission you earn.

Furthermore, you will be able to qualify for bonuses and you can climb up the ranks.

Listed below are more of their compensation plans:

• Fast start bonus - You will be awarded with $100 when you recruit a new distributor through the fast track program. However, they must recruit 2 members to the program.
• Uni-level management bonus - You earn a part of what people from your downline make.
• Diamond Generation bonus
• Diamond Leadership bonus -  When someone from your downline recruits someone on the fast track program you will receive a $80 - $150 bonus.
• Leadership bonuses - You will be eligible for incentive trips.

Is It Works! A Pyramid Scheme: Red Flags

#1 Ineffective Product

Ok. Let's get this straight.

BODY WRAPS DO NOT WORK!

In fact, there are no instances wherein these body wraps are clinically proven.

Even the founder, Mark, couldn't explain properly the product in an interview. He gave a very vague explanation. 

Furthermore, I was able to find out some statements about body wraps made my doctors and specialists.

Based on these statements, the body wrap will only give out temporary results.

These results happen because when you wear these body wraps, the part of the body where you apply it, tends to sweat.

That is only a water weight loss.

Is It Works! a scam? Is It Works! a pyramid scheme?

We will find out in just a moment.

#2 Low Income

This is what I noticed about MLM companies. Most of them have a common denominator. They do not give a good amount of income. Unfortunately, earning a good amount in It Works is also hard. As what can be seen earlier, their income disclosure statement proves that most people do not earn a lot with them.

#3 Loyal Customer (Should Avoid It)

Above, I mentioned about Loyal Customers. This program signs up people for 3 months of autoship.

The problem is that most distributors do not infomr the people about this one.

And... if you do want to cancel this subscription, you still have to pay $50!

Why do you even have to pay to cancel this subscription which you weren't informed of?

It is totally absurd.

#4 Expensive

Earleir, we talked about how to join It Works!. We were able to know that there are fees you need comply with to maintain your membership.

However, if you calculate the total cost, it is too expensive!

The minimum is $1,500 per year.

And do you think you can recoup that amount considering the income you earn based on the income disclusure statement provided above?

I don't think so.

Also, this one. Body wraps cost $99 (Loyal Customer Price $59).

It is too expensive for something that does not even work!

It is very ironic how a company named, "It Works!", sell a product that doesn't even work!

#1 Social Media

Similar to Lularoe, It Works! utilizes social media to sell its products.

It doesn't focus much on the traditional marketing wherein you sell and recruit face-to-face, which is a bit of a hassle.

Furthermore, a website will be provided but you have to pay a monthly fee of $20.

This is very advantageous because you can reach out to a lot of people in the internet. And you won't even how to leave your house!

But then again, there are better ways to earn money online.

Is It Works! a pyramid scheme? Is It Works! a scam?

After researching about it, I can say that it is NOT A PYRAMID SCHEME OR A SCAM.

The company provides products (a flagship product that doesn't work) and you do not depend entirely on recruiting to earn money.

However...

I believe it is a PYRAMID SCHEME IN DISGUISE!

As you can see, the company focuses more on recruiting people. 

If you checked the compensation plan, it is very impossible for you to earn a good amount of money by just selling.

Also, you need to recruit in order for you to rank up.

Although the company offers products, it still focuses more on recruiting people. That is why it is a pyramid in disguise!

There you have it!

All of the proof that I do not recommend you to join It Works! It is very expensive and you can only earn a small amount of money.

You are better off with other ways to earn money. Personally, I recommend affiliate marketing.

To give you my honest opinion, I do not personally recommend MLMs.

I still think that they are designed to be a business rather than a job. So even though you are a distributor, you are "secretly" their customer.

If you need to earn a good amount of money, then I recommend affiliate marketing.
